Due to budget issues with the City of Inglewood, LACoFD has closed FS 172. The engine was reassigned to Engine 8 in W. Hollywood. Former E8 has been put into reserve status as E5152 @ FS 152. Former 5152 (a former Covina FD Pierce Arrow) will be auctioned off. Squad 172 has been transferred to FS171 & will still be known as Sq172.

So there is a SQ171 & 172 both running from 171?

That is correct. Sq172 is running out of 171s. They still have the same area as before the closing of 172s. The only other thing is that if a run is in E172s area, they just dispatch the next closest engine.

Hope that helps.

Will this make the 1st time that 116's is a quint versus a truck? I thought they still had the '87 LTI rig (non-quint).

Thanks in advance.

Larry,

That is correct. The move will take T116's '87 LTI, oos & replace it with a straight frame Quint. At this time, former T116 will most likely be put into reserve.

Hope that helps.

So do these units carry just EMS equipment, or do they carry extra equipment such Extraction equipment and other item that are found on Truck Companies and Rescue/Engines else where?

Thanks in advance.
