Minnesota Apparatus

This looks like the CF that Pete Jorgensen owned from Vt. I don't have any info on it, but maybe someone else does. Nice pics, very much enjoying this thread! TJ <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/stirpot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Stirpot' />

You are correct, I don't remember much about it but I do remember seeing an add for it for sale. I want to say it was a 1971 or 72 and it had a Gas motor, which I found interesting because I believe the number of CF's w/ gas motors was minimal compared to those w/ Diesels. When it was for sale I think his wife was looking for $10,000.

Yes, that sounds right. I saw it once up close at an Amoskeag muster in Suncook many years ago. Looked to be in great shape. Thanks for the confirmation, I'm sure Mike or someone has the numbers/specs. Cheers,TJ <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/stirpot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Stirpot' />

One thing I loved about MN was the number of Peterbuilt and other commercial chassis rigs that run that run throughout the state. Makes things interesting.

The mack is a gas, and it was bought from the widow of the editor of I wanna say FAJ? I'm not sure, I'll add pictures when I get a chance.

My immediate first thought on this rig was that it looks like the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree of Fire Engines. Poor thing.

My apologies, I again, don't remember, it was a founder or someone important with a larger fire related publications I wanna say relating to apparatus. I also heard the rig was from PA which may have been where the owner lived. I'm not sure.

It is a 1972 Mack CF600 formerly owned by C. Peter Jorgensen who published the Fire Apparatus & Emergency Equipment magazine.

I believe that the White River Valley FD was Peters own creation, as he is listed as the Chief and the location is Tunbridge VT. The SN comes back to National Park NJ.

There is no White River Valley FD in VT, Tunbridge has its own Fire Dept, its a small town, probably of about 1,000 people + or -. The area of VT that Tunbridge is in is known as the White River Valley, so I would probably say it was indeed Peters creation. I did, years ago, visit a nearby vol. firehouse while on vacation and they knew who Peters was, they said he had a large collection of antique fire trucks and they thought he even may have used one or two for water supply assistance at calls when needed. They also thought he was a member of Tunbridge Fire Dept.
