Rescue 5-12 is now in service with the Washington Township Fire Department of Frysburg in Clarion County, Pa.... the 1960 WLF Fire Brand is long gone (I am sure that Bruce can fill us in, but from everyone I talked to it didn't hold up very well)... they still do have the older 54 WLF Fire Ball which is powered by a Chrysler Spitfire motor.

Piece is X-Syosset, NY... after York New Salem was done with it, it was sold to somewhere in VA and was ran for a short time. It was than put in a barn to rot away. Syosset found out about it's exsistance and sent people to find it (I want to say it was in Sparrowbush or Snowbush, VA)....it is now back in Syosset's posession and they proudly run it around in parades and stuff. What an amazing piece it is, there is a guy on here who is the foreman on it.. his screename is Fireboss I believe (or possibly Fyrboss).

Here is the only shot I have. This was taken in 1989 at the Lancaster County Fire Expo at Dutch Wonderland Park in Lancaster before the show was transferred to Harrisburg. That year, Monroeville bought a rescue and engine for No. 4 and the 135' aerial for No. 5.

[/quote]

I didn't think Monroeville purchased the Rescues? And #5 got an engine too that same year I believe.

As part of the fire apparatus agreement between Monroeville and the five fire companies, two engines and one ladder truck were due for replacement in 1988. E\-One was awarded the bid for the engines. E\-One was the only one that bid on the truck due to they were the only ones that could build a 135' ladder. The rescue truck Company 4 was ordering was going to go the manufacturer that was awarded the engine bid.

Companies 4 & 5 took delivery of 1988 E\-One Cyclone pumpers (Engines 42 & 51) in December 1988. Company 5 took delivery of 1989 E\-One Hurricane, 135' RMA (Truck 5) in 1989. The 1989 E\-One Cyclone Non-Walk-In Rescue (Rescue 4) was delivered in 1989 and was purchased by Company 4.

Rescue 4 was in in service until 2001. It was sold to Buckhorn Community VFD in Columbia County.

Engine 42 was in service until 2008. It was sold to Trafford VFD in Westmoreland County.

Engine 51 was in service until 2007. It was sold to Braddock Hills VFD in Allegheny County

Truck 5 was in service until 2009. It was sold to City of Pooler, Georgia

Thanks for the info! I always heard that the companies bought their own Rescue's and Utility (Squad) vehicles - so I wasn't sure how far back that stretched. Trafford moved old 42 a lot when they first got it but I haven't seen it out in a while - haven't seen old 51 yet. Did 114 paint it?

114 left the unit white with the red stripe.

The apparatus replacements still holds true for the most part, but there have been some changes made the past couple of years. New Squad 1 which replaced Rescue 1 was purchased by the Municipality. Trucks 4 & 5, Quint 1, Engines 12, 31, 41, 42, 51, 61 & 62, Squad 1, Command 32 and Mini 3 are purchased by the Municipality. Rescues 4 & 6, Tanker 5, Chief's Buggies, Utility Trucks and Ambulances are all purchased by the fire companies.

For those that need to update their photo records, Company 6 placed into service new Engine 62 which is a 2010 Spartan/E-One foam pumper. They also placed on order to replace Engine 61 which will be a Spartan/Rosenbauer. Company 1 is in the process of replacing Engine 12 (93 Seagrave). I dont know what the new unit will be, but it will probably be a Ferrara since that was the manufacturer of the last two units they received (Quint 1 & Squad 1).
