Los Angeles Fire Dept
[quote name='Ladder 68' timestamp='1312343869' post='451185']

A while back a buddy and I visited the L.A. area and visited LAFD stations 33, 38 and 56 with no problems at all. In fact they took us in, shared stories and treated us great offering anything they could. And when leaving 56's they refused to let us go to 33's until they called ahead and then gave us point by point turns and phone numbers to call them in case of an issue. Additionally LACoFD, Compton and Long Beach Fire Departments where awesome as well. No issues what so ever and treated us awesome with directions, lunch, etc.

Still have a good opinion of the L.A. area fire service.

Fire Station 9 is kind of a difficult hosuse to shoot due to call volume and limited space for apparatus photos. Fire Station 3 in Downtown is good as they just took delivery of one of the new KME's as did Fire Station 56.

Most of the smaller cities Burbank, Glendale etc are also photo friendly.

It's been 11 years since I've buffed LA last, other than houses already mentioned, I remember stopping at FS 26, 29, and 66. 26 and 66 were both in the hood, but guys at those houses were very friendly and accomodating for pics of apparatus and visiting in general. 29's is in a little better area, they were good to us too and there was a lot of room around their house for shooting apparatus. All these are TF houses so they had a ton of apparatus at them. Hope this helps.

Truck 12 is now in there "new": tiller , Old Truck 39 (Van Nuys CA) has been reassigned to Truck 12 (Highland Park CA).

Truck 39 stayed open after the consolidation didn't it? If so, did they get a new rig?

So the photo above is Truck 39's new and current rig? So their former Duplex/LTI tiller went to Truck 12 I presume.

Correction on the apparatus that was given to Truck 12. They have received old T98. A 2000 ALF. the former LTI at 39's went into reserve or elsewhere. Former Truck 12 is in reserve. Went by 12s two days ago and found the ALF in quarters

"New" Truck 12. A 2001 ALF. Former Truck 14 and not Truck 98 as originally thought to be handed down. At this time, it is unknown where former Truck 98 will wind up.
