Payne Field ran this big Darley built apparatus as Engine -26. The engine was built in 1992 on a Spartan Gladiator chassis and had a 1750 pump, 1000 gallons of water and 100 gallons of foam concentrate.

In 2003, the Seattle Fire Department purchased eight American La France 1500 GPM triple combination pumpers. After the initial purchase they acquired an additional engine of the same type. Thanks to Rich Schneider for the historical information he provided.
Each is equipped with a top mounted pump control panel, a 500 gallon booster tank, a 10 gallon Class A foam tank, and a Cummins 330 HP diesel. Built on American La France "Metropolitan" chassis with an "Eagle" cab-front. Nearly three months ago, there was a request for photos of the new engine in Burien, WA. I drove up there yesterday morning and saw it out. It is a Pierce Arrow XT, job # 23472. It has a 515hp DDEC engine, 2000gpm pump, and 500gal water tank. It also has a Husky 12 foam system per the dealer's website. Here are a few photos.
