Has the Chief changed his mind yet about changing the Dept's logo to FEMS?

It's on hold for about the next 3-4 months. I hope it stays, I like the traditions of the DCFD and believe the maltese cross should be the insignia of any tradition laden FD. It says EMS on it which is good enough for me, a DC taxpayer. DC Councilman Jack Evans introduced legislation that would keep the name as DCFD, not DCFEMS. I would hate to see a return to the pre-Rubin insignia.

Beautiful weather today in the DC Metro area! Got together with a few good friends, and ventured out. Here are a few. The first has got to be my favorite of the day!!

Hey Patrick, Not sure I follow your list of new apparatus for DC. Can you tell me which two will get new TDAs and which two will just get new tractors?

Thanks - Jerry

Bus,

Understand completely. I get the honey do list tomorrow. lol. Hope the weather cooperates for ya. Can't wait to see what you get.

Jerry,

Unsure at this point which trucks will get brand new, and which will get new tractors w/refurbed trailers. I've been in contact with Seagrave, but they can't release that info until the rigs actually hit the street. They are getting close to completion.

Pat, GREAT photos, did you happen to take any photos of the wrecker that's now operated by Rescue 2?

Awesome shots, as always! =)

jlg1875,

The wrecker is not operated by Squad 2 anymore. I guess it was wasn't used as much as they thought it would be. It is now kept at the shops. I haven't got a photo, but I know that Tim and few others got a good one of it.

Thanks for the info Pat! Didn't the Squad 'take over' the rig about a year or so ago? I bought a tee shirt at the Allentown flea market with the truck on it with Squad 2 in the logo! Not sure what they expected for how much it would run, can't see a piece like that getting out maybe a few times a year, but good to have it when you need it and not have to wait for it to be brought up from the shop in an emergency.
