FDNY Old Vid

[quote name='Crossbronxxpress' date='28 September 2010 - 02:25 PM' timestamp='1285697154' post='404924']

At mark 3:24-3:27 is the famous FDNY Chief Adolf "Torch" Tortoriello. This Chief was supposedly a legend on the job back in the 60's and 70's!

This past Sunday after participating in the Tunnel to Towers run in lower Manhattan, myself and a few guys I work with went to an "establishment" afterwards, to enjoy a few "beverages". Standing right next to me at the bar was Warren Forsyth himself. He's still a BIG dude, with a huge 9-11 tatoo covering most of his right arm. He retired out of Rescue 1 around 1999-2000. He was with his wife and one of his daughters who was featured in the video.

Also, at the 5:46 mark in this video you see Kevin Shea getting his bottle changed by another R-1 fireman. That fireman is Gary Geidel who was also lost on Sept. 11th.

Thanks for posting this J! Lots of familiar faces is an understatement. Unfortunately, alot of the Brothers featured or interviewed were lost on 9-11. Batt. Chief John Moran, Paddy Brown, and Patty O'Keefe.....Just to name a few.

Kevin Shea went on to perform the dramatic double roof rope rescue in Times Square in May '91, along with Patty Barr from 45 Truck and Patty Brown. Kevin was later injured severely at the first World Trade Center bombing in Feb. '93 when he fell in the hole in the parking garage. He eventually got out on a line of duty injury disability.

Looking forward to seeing the other clips.

Kevin is in Kalispell, MT... NO DEER IS SAFE WITH HIM THERE! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/machinegun.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Machinegun' />
