I would say so, since they have only been around since 2006.

I had an opportunity to visit Bakerton today. Weather did not cooperate real well.....a forecast of sunny skies was more cloudy than anything else. As usual, the folks from Bakerton were extremely accomodating.

This is already posted, but to show you current apparatus.

1995 Spartan Gladiator/Saulsbury

Engine 7-1 originally began at Hancock, Maryland. It was then sold to Middleway, West Virginia (also a Jefferson County, WV station). In 2010, it was sold to Bakerton.

1989 White-Volvo-GMC/American Eagle

1000/750

Tanker 7 was just placed into service several weeks ago.

Purchased through a FEMA grant.

Replaced the 1976 Brockway tanker, which was sold to a local farm.

A newer brush truck for Bakerton, which replaced the 1974 Dodge.

Brush 7

1968 Kaiser Deuce 1/2 6x6/2010 FD

600 gallon water tank

The Kaiser was purchased locally in 2010

Tank obtained through the West Virginia Forestry Department

Rhino Linings in back bed

Plans are to keep it in its green color

I forgot to mention that Engine 7-1 (1989 White-Volvo-GMC/American Eagle) is used mainly as brush fire support. Brush 7 and Engine 7-1 run as a brush team.

The other apparatus at Bakerton is the Air Unit (posted previously) and two ex- Sheriff Department vehicles now used as Chief 7 and a Duty Officer car.

Final one from Bakerton is an updated station photo.

Thanks

Some quick updates at Bakerton......

I had the unexpected and unscheduled opportunity to drop by Bakerton today when I was near their station on the way to a work meeting. Things worked out nicely when I found the newer Chief at the station. A fire truck photo opportunity is rare for me in January.

Here is Bakerton's "new" Engine 7-1, which they recently received.

Bakerton, WV

Jefferson County

Engine 7-1

1992 Pierce Lance

1500/500/40

65' Telesqurt

E-7229

Originally delivered to Bellmore, New York. Glasgow, Virginia purchased this Pierce in 2006. It was recently sold to Bakerton when Glasgow placed into service a used tiller truck from Frederick, Maryland.
