Nice shot Doc. The last open cab CF that Mack manufactured. CF 685 F(10) 1644. It is now collector owned and in good hands. Doc, do you have a shot of it in service at Connellsville?

[/quote]

No, Ed, my 1st Fayette trip was not until 1993. There was a thread on that style of CF on here for a long time, but it may have been purged. It had, IIRC, Schmidt photos of all 3 C-ville CFs.

Dave Bowen and I returned to Dunbar in 2002, and reshot the Mack. Some changes had been made over the years; (substituting an electronic siren in place of the original Fed Q!? <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/shrug.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Shrug' /> ).

We also shot the CF's replacement; a 1987 Spartan/FMC 1500/900/? reportedly from North Hempfield Twp. PA. This rig was fresh from the paint shop and was not in service.

Thanks Doc. It looks much better with the Q. I believe it has air horns above the windshield now. I like the red better. Great Fayette shots. Keep them coming. Whatever happened to the Germantown, Ex. Latrobe #1 Pioneer LaFrance?

South Connellsville VFD station, rather large considering size of town (2,200); in 2005 the 2 newest pieces of equipment were this 2004 Ford F-250 PP/200 brush and a used 1996 Jeep, used for QRS runs.

By 2000, 4-Guys did a nice cosmetic rehab, and the CF was still in service in 2005.

Mr. Anderson,

Not yet, but it is on the list. I just lucked into the Smithfield piece. If I do get it in the near future I will let you know.

Thanks for the information, too. (and thanks to Mr. Shoop for the quick ID)
