Duplex D-350/Ladder Towers, Inc.

1500/400/75'

It was purchased new by Paulding County, GA and ran as Ladder 8. After a couple years, the County felt it wasn't needed and it was sold to Cobb County where it ran as Ladder 12. After several years, Ladder 12 was relocated to become Ladder 16.

What would you expect? It's a 26 year old apparatus that was run hard by a busy city FD for many years before Union bought it. I don't believe it has ever been refurbed. On the other hand, the new FD may be able to get ISO credit for having it, so why not?

The Lake City platform is indeed x-Pelham-Batesville, SC, but they didn't purchase it new. They purchased it from a department in California whose name escapes me at the moment. It is actually a Van Pelt. The Oshkosh A-1838 chassis was sent to the L.T.I. plant where the aerial was installed, then to the Hamerly factory. The bodywork was added there, then it was shipped to the Van Pelt factory where it was completed.
