Two fox pups in a den built in the bank of the town highway dept. garage, needless to say loud noises down bother them too much.[/quote]

Few shots from the past couple of weeks:

Campbell's Falls State Park (both CT and MA) a beutiful place, and dangerous we've carried several folks who "got dead" falling from the top of the falls to the bottom. The park straddles the state line making response and investigations interesting to say the least, of course neither state has the money to really maintain the park so short of a chain link fence preventing (slowing them down anyway) from getting into the most dangerous part and a few signs it is pretty much a natural setting.

Umpachene (Ump PA cheeny) Falls Town Park in New Marlborough, MA is only about 6-7 miles from Campbell's Falls and is supposed to be for residents only, but there are often NY, CT, VA, ect.. plated vehicles in the lot. This gent from CT was teasing the trout (stocked) in the Konapot River up stream from the falls. Chief's Konkapot and Umpachene were both chiefs of the Stockbridge Tribe that was eventually moved out west. Descendants still occasionally show looking for the old burying grounds ect...

This was May 25th - a gal was actually swimming just down stream - she was kinda cute, should have grabbed a shot of her, but I don't think her large heavily tattooed male companion would have approved.

Of course the park has its own fan site on Facebook!

More recently I took a hike up Dry Hill, one of two Trustees of Reservations areas here in New Marlborough, MA

The view looking southwest, was only up there for about 45 minutes and got a pretty good sunburn, remember the sun!?!

Thanks - This was shot with my Sony EVF H-1. I am on vacation next week and hope to rent a long lens for my Canon Rebel XT and then hope to see some critters on the move. The bears are getting quite active around here lately. Saw my first one this year Thursday AM. Missed a shot of a grey fox here on campus the other AM - oh well.

Very nice Ed. Being from Boston (26 years ago), we forget there are some lovely spots in the western part of Mass.

I cheated a little bit to get these shots by going to the Central Park Zoo, but I figured I'd still share.

The Red Panda, which apparantly has a tail.

I think the polar bear has some psych issues...swimming back and forth along the same path all day. Overall I thought it was nice. Not a big as the Bronx Zoo so it appears the animals are closer, not overcrowded for a nice Sunday and not too expensive. My kids gave it two thumbs up. Even got to buff Engine 23 and Rescue 1 as well as a couple of ESU vehicles. Even manage to avoid the "interesting" views at the Gay Pride Parade. That would have been hard to explain to me kids. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I'd have to agree, it probably gets bored and/or lonely. Did you happen to catch the very angry duck in the Puffin tank across from the penguins? I swear it was possessed.

There is this small stream/water fall near my house and I seem to be able to spend long periods of time near it taking photos, very therapeutic location. I call it the 353 Falls for the summer (rarely occupied) house that is close by.
