Today I shot Baltimore's recently rehabbed Reserve Engine 68
1993 Pierce Saber 1250/500 ex E30, RE60
Perryville, MD will be getting this new Pierce in soon. It just got into AES this week.
Engine 16 2011 Pierce Arrow XT 2000/1000/30
This one from Rising Sun's Conowingo station was there also.
Engine 814 2007 Pierce Enforcer 1500/1000/30
It was originally a 1995. After an accident KME had an older cab around and used it to repair the damage with some cutting and welding.
I got back yesterday from vacation on Long Island. I managed to get out a partial day on Monday to shoot some of the rigs in the area. I'm partial to the Brush Breakers, known as Stump Jumpers in this neck of the woods!
On the way out to look at a lighthouse I ran across this one from Amagansett sitting out on the ramp. No one was around to get any info.
Here's West Islip's Brush 3-17-25
1970 Kaiser 2 1/2 ton 6X6/09 Chivas 600/500
We stayed in Hauppauge so I had to get the apparatus near the motel.
Hauppague Rescue 3-8-9 1999 Spartan Gladiator/Saulsbury
And while I was here they caught a run so I couldn't get this one pulled out.
A 1942 Chevy that previously was at North Hopewell Township in York, Co. PA.that originally was at Hauppague.
While I was here the driver asked if I wanted to shoot their antique.
OF COURSE I DO!!! A 1937 American LaFrance that originally served Rockville Center and was Nesconset's first piece. 500 GPM

While traveling between stations I ran across this on the side of the road.
This one is for the "Hungrybus"
This is the big boy I was after at Ridge VFD. Brush 5-22-12 A 1973 AM General 5 ton 6X6 250/700. It took two stops and some tactful persuassion to get it out in the sun!
Coran had the other big 5 ton job. Brush 5-6-2 1070 Kaiser Jeep 250/500.
This is it for a while, I'll ad some others later. |
