Newton, Kansas a suburb of Wichita operating three career fire houses. Newton Fire Department a long standing career fire department ten years ago absorbed the separate City of Newton Ambulance Service that provided EMS to Newton and Harvey County. The department now operates as a Fire based EMS system. Fire House 2 a two story fire house with fire poles in downtown serves as Headquarters and houses all specialty apparatus. Fire House 1 and 3 are substations. Each Fire House has an Engine and Ambulance.
