On page 208 there is a photo of Truck 21. On the cab of the roof just forward of the storage box on the roof there are what apprear to be two reels of what looks like to me are either utility rope or electrical cables. Why they would keep the up there exposed to the elements is beyond me so I might be mistaken. Anyone have a clue what they are?

[/quote] I guy in my Firehouse's, Brother is Capt of TL-21, I know they are a "Water-Rescue Support" truck (carries H2O equipment in the diamondplate box), may be spools of rope for that.......

Just was curious on the new Ferrara ladders and rescues does anyone know what the latches are for on the sides mounted on the compartment doors. Not the door latches themselves but the ones sticking out?

Truck 4, soon to be replaced with a Ferrara, I assume will go to spare fleet or salvage?

Ok this question has nothing to do with this site. But Iam not sure where to go and find the info. Can someone point me in the direction of contacts so i could try and tour the FDNY Fire Communcations Center when iam in Manhattan in late September. Thanks
