Hey it was just a standard Engine not a Rescue Engine, although it does look like one with the high side compartments.

Yes, you're right Trey, I usually think of an Engine with high sides compartments as a "Rescue Engine" because of the body looking more like that of a Rescue, than what it is actually set up to do, much like the Tanker/Tender or Ladder/Tower/Truck discussions. Thank you for clarification too!

In late 2012 VA Beach took delivery of a Pierce Tower in anticipation of the New FS 7 opening up. Since the New FS 7 was not completed at the time it was assigned to Ladder 16 with plans to eventually go to Ladder 7 . That never happened and it was decided to just order another Pierce Tower which will be delivered in the next month . Here is Ladder 16 with more numbers added since this will be permanently assigned..........

Currently running as Engine 6-2 in Boonsboro is this X VA Beach Duplex E One  engine which is on loan from Pierce until the new tanker and engine tanker are delivered. Its still in great shape and sounds AMAZING !!!!!! Any idea the specs on this one?

Don't have my roster with me but it is VA Beach ex Engine 6 and is a 1984 Duplex-Eone refurbished by LSI in 1999  I believe . 1500gpm  and I think its a 750 tank. Corrections are welcomed.

I was able to use this engine for a couple of weeks for a driver/pump operator class in the Richmond area in the spring.  It does sound great, and ran like a charm.  These were some of the best engines that the VBFD ever purchased.

Boonsboro ET63 was wrecked this past winter.

Trey...After it was rehabed  ($ doors and roll-up compartment doors) It was assigned to E-13 (Blackwater) and when E^ went pout it was transfered to E-6.....I think 13 ended up getting a pumper tanker for a bit.

Quote:Boonsboro ET63 was wrecked this past winter.
The Engine Tanker was responding to a call during one of our snow storms and slid off the road causing it to be totaled by the insurance company.

Boonsboro currently has a 2014 Mack Granite Pierce Dry Side Tanker 1500 GPM 3500 GWT on order for the main station while the sub station has a 2014 Pierce Arrow XT  1500 GPM 1500 GWT Engine Tanker on order.

The plan is to move Engine 8-1 back to the main station to be reassigned as Engine 6-2 again.. Engine 6-2 will be a fully functional " reserve " but will  respond to the " junk " calls (  ex.  wires down, medical ) to help keep the miles off of Rescue Engine 6-1.

The new tanker will sport the new color scheme for the company of Black over red unknown if the Engine Tanker will be the same or not but I would say so.
