Managed to make a Bronx 4-Bagger today, sounded good on radio with fire on top floor of a 6-story large "H", then heard on fireground feed, heavy fire in cockloft and 3-4 apartments on top floor.......I had a 45-minute response time from up North, thru heavy thunderstorms....but when I got in, fire was U/C and units were picking up! NO fire scene shots, so I shot a few ($hitty) rig shots, and was on my way........

Anyone know if the new Rescues are in service yet? I heard they had some issues with a couple.

When visiting R1 and R2 yesterday, they both reported that there was a lot of concern that the new FFA rescues were far slower (without equipment) than the fully loaded in-service rigs. R3 apparently did a "drag race" with the new and old rig, and the new one wouldn't get out of its own way. The men said all 5 are still at the shop.

The new ones are heavier empty than the ones that are currently in service now fully loaded

We are having the same issues over here with the new generation engines, we prefer the spares over the new rigs, even though the new rigs have higher HP.
