To me, the new 75' towers look a little longer than the older models of the same. Anyone know if there's a difference?

A general FDNY pumper question based on my unfamiliarity: I love the fact that FDNY engines have low & well stocked hosebeds. But, I am amazed at this day & age how many lengths of hard suction they carry. I mean, it looks very cool, but, do they actually utilize it on a regular basis?
Yes Rescue 5 was in service yesterday with the new Rig.

if memory serves me right, the new
Seagrave engines all have 2000gpm pumps. the amount of hard suction carried has to do with the ability to make the 2000 gallons.....

How are they used in regular ops?

My immediate first thought on this rig was that it looks like the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree of Fire Engines. Poor thing.
