FYI, Slagles stuck one of those tags on everything that came into (or even drove past) their shop. While they do built a lot of brush trucks, most likely they either sold this truck used, or perhaps did a refurb on it. They're the KME dealer for most of Virginia.

Ronnie,

Interesting history on this rig. Originally purchased by the Paoli Fire Company (Chester County, PA). See below.

Bruce

1951 Mack L-95, semi-cab, 750/250. It cost $17,000 new, housed 5/51, replaced the 1926 Hale, retrofitted with a 55' Snorkel in 1971 for $37,000 by the Middleton & Mead Co. of Baltimore MD, a 2.5 KW generator was also added at this time, work done through the Glen Culbert Company. It was sold to the Kimberton Fire Company (Chester County, PA) in 1976. Kimberton sold it in 1993 to Frank Capotosto of Newtown Square (Delaware County, PA) for $3,100 who then leased it to the Forest Lake Fire Company (Susquehanna County, PA) for $1 a year. Frank’s son is a Asst. Chief there. By 2007, taken out of service and given back to Frank Capotosto. Stored in Rogers Trucking of Binghamton, NY. Sold in 03/2010 to the Schuylkill County Fire Historical Museum for $5,000.

if it's a L95 ,then it's a 1000/250 or it's a L85.

B95MackFire,

You are correct - L85 - typo.

Thanks,

Appears to be a L95 by the four 2-1/2 discharges. [1000 gpm]

Since I have a photo of myself standing on the bumper of this rig circa 1966, I feel qualified to chime in on this one (photo taken at Chester County, PA's Fire School behind the Thorndale Fire Company, while my Grandfather taught the Pump class), It is a 750gpm Type 85. However, it was very common for L-85 Macks delivered to Philadelphia area Fire Companies to have four 2.5" discharges, usually as a "no extra cost" incentive by the local Mack salesman to seal the deal. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/3_12_21.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='3_12_21' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/stirpot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Stirpot' />

Very good comment. This is why the pump size can be misleading sometimes (by the discharges)

I was thinking of this when I seen the L-85 L-95 comment. I did not hear this information before.
