Terry, this looks like the 1995 Issaquah Tower, now running as reserve Ladder 73A out of the Sammamish Highlands Station. I have it as E\-One SO#14131

BTW, it looks as though you may have captured a bald eagle flying over the rig. Although it certainly could be Batman wearing a white cap.

I have seen the new platform in Renton's Station 11 over the past two days. It looks like it might be close to being in service now.

2 things I've seen recently:

1. One of Seattle's KW Hose Wagons has been stripped and is sitting in a city lot under the I-90 bridges leading to the stadiums. I'm not sure if there's anybody else up in Seattle that can get a shot of it, but if those 2 KWs are going away, it's the end of a very long run for Kenworth with SFD. I'm pretty sure the hose wagons are the last KW rigs operated by SFD.

2. I saw a new Tacoma FD engine that looked like it was being delivered last week. It appeared to be a Spartan/Darley. What was unusual about it was that it had a massively extended and raised rear cab. I googled and found that apparently it is transport capable. For a VERY traditional department like Tacoma, this is pretty surprising. I guess it's going to Engine 3 in NE Tacoma eventually, so keep your eyes out.

Bryce, here is the answer to item number one.

Here is HOSE 34 at the city shops bone yard awaiting sale. Sometime at the end of Aug of this year it was special called to a West Seattle second alarm house fire, to lay a supply because of problems with the closest hydrants. Now, sometime while responding, operating at the fire or returning to quarters it developed a fatal engine problem which later was determined too costly to repair or replace. Hose 18 now remains the last of the KW engine fleet still in service.
