Sorry about that. You are right, Squad A's old E\-One pictured here is now Engine 3. My bad on that.
Izzy....firenews.org lists Eng 8 in New Haven as being taken out of service for budgetary reason.....

TNT.... There is talk that eventually E-8 will be taken off duty and replaced with a Emergency Unit ( Paramedic Unit ). The apparatus in the picture is now running as Squad 2 and E-8 runs with a Pierce Quantum.
Engine 8 is still in service at this time. There are four new Emergency units on order to be staffed with a medic and an EMT. There has been talk when Emergency 3 & 4 are re-activated along side Emergency 1 & 2, Engine 8 will be disbanded to increase the staffing for the two re-activated units, one of which will be stationed at Whitney Avenue with Squad 1. Squad 1 would still operate as a squad but will take on Engine 8's first due area (pretty much like Engine 8 used to run before the organization of the squad companies). However, New Haven recently put out they are going to be hiring again soon so it is possible Engine 8 may not be deactivated. We'll have to see what happens. I know the residents are up in arms about the possible closure of Engine 8. Squad 30 in Shelton, Rescue 4 in Thomaston, Squad 5 in Bridgeport, Rescue 2 in Cheshire operated a 1994 Pierce Dash, Prospect FD escue 6 are all still in service. Rumors are going around Bridgeport Squad 5 will be replaced soon.
