Barnstable County, MA employed this 1961 Maxim 200/800 brush-breaker. Jack DeRosset pic/Mattson Collection <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/usa.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Pretty neat stuff. This was one of three similar rigs built for Barnstable County - a 1958 was stationed in West Barnstable, a 1963 was stationed in Dennis and this rig was stationed in Orleans. Orleans apparently ran this rig until the early 1980's when it was sold to Eastham who ran it for several years before selling it to Brewster MA. who also purchased and ran the 1963 rig which had served in Dennis. I've always wanted to see a shot of this in front of the Orleans fire house; thanks for sharing!

Reading, PA had this open-cab IH snorkel which I bhave no information on. Looks like an interesting piece so, I hope someone like Bruce Anderson or anyone else can help identify. Wish it was a better image. Mattson Collection <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/usa.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
1967? International CO-8190/Pirsch 75'. This rig was refurbed by KME in the 90's after being involved in a MVC where the original cab was damaged. KME put one of their square cabs on it.

Thanks for the history lesson Bruce. I remember when the snorkel was delivered in Reading and the public display and demonstration for it near Albright College on North 13th Street.
Thanks for the Largo rigs!! Both FD8, Engine 41 and FD7, Engine 42 were in frontline service when I moved to Largo in '87. The Spartan/E-one was taken on when Highpoint Fire District merged with Largo. It originally ran as Engine 40, then a spare.
