This rig has been around for quite awhile but is still in excellent shape. Initially, the dept. was going to sell this once they received their quint, but have decided to keep it as a reserve. Kilmarnock New Engine 16 -2011 Pierce Saber 1250/1000/30
I like to think of myself as pretty well educated about fire apparatus but can anybody shed a little light on what's with the chrome vent (?) grating on this rig just above the first roll up door on the driver's side, just past the mattydales?????
Most likely, the rig has a dunnage area in the forward section of the hosebed, and this is where Pierce elected to mount the generator. The grill would be for generator airflow.

Va Beach has a few heavy or medium duty rescues ran by the Vol. Res Squads and that one was fairfly easy to get pulled out because the station usually has someone around.Squad 6 in the Rural Creeds section of the city has a Squad and to this day I cant It pulled out for pics.
