Any chances you have anything from Ridgewood, NJ? I have from 1980 on up. I remember the used to run a pair of ALF 700 series open can pumpers, a 1970s vintage either Chevy or Dodge van used by the tour commander and marked as "Emergency Van".
Brian, I made a new topic for that request.

Jamestown, NY Reserve Engine # 4 was this 1942 American LaFrance 750 pumper when shot by Leo Duliba in July 1968. Mattson Collection <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/usa.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> [/quote] This is an interesting rig. It was delivered in late 1941 and is a 500 Series, but has the slab-sided rear body used on the 600 Series. I've only seen one other like it, a 1941 delivery to Greenville, SC. Originally assigned to Engine 1 in 1941, it was reassigned to Engine 4 in 1949. It served there until going into reserve in 1961. It was destroyed in an accident in 1970. The rig in the background is a 1945 American LaFrance 600 Series 65' aerial that served from 1945 to 1972. It was sold to Brunswick, OH and repainted yellow. I know it has been posted on Firepics in the past, possibly by Scott. |
