That Brockway cab looks like a Mack R. [/quote] Good eye. It looks lke a Mack R cab becuase it is a Mack R cab. They were both manufactured by Mack. From 1956 to 1977, Mack owned Brockway Trucks.

And, wasn't it featured in FAJ within the last two years or so as a rehabbed piece now being used a little (or a lot) further west than its original Pennsylvania home?

Still in service but I hear its being replaced soon.
I will have to comment on the East Brandywine rigs since they are my hometown company. The first one posted is:
1984 Ford L-8000/4-Guys, canopy cab, 1000/1000, top-mount. This was the first engine ordered with a canopy cab and top-mount controls, Cat 3208 diesel engine, 225 HP, 5-speed with a 2-speed rear, 5 KW generator. The chassis came from New Holland Ford for $31,585, and the body cost $52,895 – total cost $84,480. It was housed on 6/9/85. It is used as a attack pumper. It was sold through Custom Tech Fire Apparatus (dealer) to the Broadview Fire Department in Saskatchawan, Canada. It was taken out of service on 11/23/98 and left for Canada on a lowboy the next day. The second one is a: 1987 Ford L-8000/4-Guys, canopy cab, 1250/1000, top-mount. This unit is a twin to the one purchased in 1985 at a cost of $81,000 Cat 3208 diesel engine, 250 HP, 5-speed with a 2-speed rear, 5 KW generator. It was delivered 4/88, placed into service 5/88. It is used as a supply pumper. Placed out of service on 6/23/04 and sold to Jon’s Mid America Fire Apparatus. It left on 7/9/04 on a lowboy. It was resold to the West Republic Fire Department (Greene County, MO). The last one is as follows and is for SALE. Being replaced by a 2012 Seagrave Marauder II pumper-tanker. 1989 Mack R690S chassis - purchased to replace the 1977 Ford LT-900 chassis which was in dire need of replacement. The tankwas also rehabed by 4-Guys. The chassis was purchased from Cambria Mack of Edison, New Jersey for $52,000, Mack EM-6 motor, 250HP, 5-speed manual transmission. Sent to Fire Power of Thorofare, NJ on 6/5/01 to have the pump rebuilt, returned to service on 6/22/01. Sent to 4-Guys on 10/25/02 for major tank work. The original 1977 cradle for the tank was rusting out and was replaced. The emergency lighting was also upgraded at this time and a new tank level gauge installed. Total cost was $18,424. Returned to service on 11/25/02. OOS again most of 09/03 due to pump problems, repaired by Midlantic ALF. Sent out on 3/1/07 to Bergy’s Truck Center of Consohohocken (local Mack dealer) to get a Allison automatic transmission installed. The Streethawk light bar was replaced with a Whelen MX7000 with a traffic light sensor on 8/7/09. Major electrical work was done in 12/09 by 10-8 of New Holland – new alternator & wiring. Bruce

The origional had a crew cab body with open hose bed. It was referbed at least once maybe 2 times. I thik it was in FAJ. Color was white with black fenders orijional.
