I believe Krings is in Somerset County, PA, and was subsequently named Conemaugh Township VFD (Station 619). They have now merged with Ideal but kept the Conemaugh Township name (but the Ideal Station number, 610). Love the old PA shots!

That is not the Gettysburg Mack. The Mack you posted was orignally owned by Taneytown, MD and then purchased by Fayetteville in Franklin County PA, just west of Gettysburg. They did a rehab job on it and that is where it got it's "Fancy Lady" name. The GFD Mack was delivered in red and was slimed during a rehab by Hamerly and has been restored to red. The other GFD Mack was an "L".

Krings is a suburb of Johnstown, PA in Cambria County. The vol. fire dept closed their doors sometime in the '90s. Comemaugh Twp VFD started operations in April 2010 with Ideal VFD about a mile from the former Krings station in Somerset County, thus the Somerset number.

I did some Googleing for info on their rescue and found nothing.

Yes, the "L" was also slimed. It suffered the undeserving fate of burning up in the owne'rs barn fire in 2001. I believe the "B" has had two private owners since it was sold.

The Body was built in 1942 by the U.S.Army at Ft. Holibird, MD, iirc (based on a plate inside the compartment) Early W.W.II USAAF Crash Truck. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/3_12_21.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/stirpot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> ! (Hockeypuck from Lutherville or I took that photo btw, as we were standing next to each other in the Elementary School driveway!)

1974 Ward LaFrance. Replaced in 2009 by a Seagrave Maurader II. Still owned by the fire company along with the rest of thrir antiques.

Actually, it's my photo, taken on 1 of 2 trips to NH Twp. that yr., we came back after the corn went down... One of about 6 York trips in 1994 with the aforementioned Mr. Puck.
