Krings is a suburb of Johnstown, PA in Cambria County. The vol. fire dept closed their doors sometime in the '90s. Comemaugh Twp VFD started operations in April 2010 with Ideal VFD about a mile from the former Krings station in Somerset County, thus the Somerset number.

I did some Googleing for info on their rescue and found nothing.

The co. name was changed in the mid-1990's, the current rescue (1996 IH N/New Lex) was delivered w/Conemaugh Twp. lettering and black/red paint. They also got a pickup squad/utility in 2004.

My photo of the rig as used in the New Lexington brochure.

Mechanical engineers build weapons, whereas civil engineers build targets.

When the man at the door said," Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms", I, naturally assumed it was a delivery!

They have a warehouse where they keep these trucks. I like it. It preserves their history. Wish we could of kept our 27 and 60 LaFrances. Anyway, Monessen has their 1923 Seagrave engine that they refurbed a few years back.

It is pulled by a 1979 Seagrave tractor that was the tractor of a tiller from Pittsburgh, ex 14 Truck. The tiller was scrapped but they kept the tractor.

This is a shot of their 1942 Seagrave aerial. These shots were at the 117th Western PA Firemans Convention in Kiski Township in 2010.

Monessen had bought 2 Seagrave tillers from Pittsburgh. The last one bought was out of New Hampshire or Mass.

This is the new engine that replaced the Ward. It was bought through the AFG program for over $400,000. It is a very nice engine.

A shot of Monessen Engine 1 at the PA State Convention in Latrobe, PA in 1989. I believe this is a 1982. They also had an 89 if Im not mistaken. One of the two had pump issues.

Is this rig road worthy or do they just parade in on the trailer?

It's a nice looking piece.
