Fairfax County (Jefferson)

Tech Rescue Pod

[/quote]I took this photo back in the late 80's at Station 30 (Merrifield) and was wondering if this was the same unit with a different pod on it.

It is the same unit. It was moved to 18 when the two Command units arrived in 05/06.

Truck-30 is the former Truck-21 and Wagon 30 was the only high side compartment Hurricane purchased and was equiped with flow meters rather than pressure gauges.

I did get to see 30's Hurricane on the production line in 1988 or 89 at Ocala; it was an add-on to the 86 order. I think the single axle T30 went out to 36 when it opened in the late 80's and 30 received the Hush tower.

Current Fairfax Tanker 39 - when it was letter "Tanker 42" and "Wolftrap". Taken 2 years ago for station 42 (that just broke ground 6 weeks ago). Nice rig.

The Plains VFD Squad 4. At the time of this photo this rig was on loan to Catlett since their Rescue Engine was OOS. From what I'm told this beautiful beast is retired and being replaced by a Rescue Engine at The Plains. Sad to see her go.
