Quote:So how can I resize photos on a mac in order to post on here?Uh, oh. I may have spoken too soon... I'm not sure exactly how to do it on a Mac, but all photos need to be <200k in size. I generally use 1024x768 resolution at 72dpi. That creates a decent sized photo for viewing, but also keeps the file size low. I use Paint.net to edit and resize. It's free and may even have a Mac version. The most important thing is to keep the file size down.

I wonder why they went with used? Spare rig or parts, maybe?

Welcome. Great photos! Love that old Lafrance.

Vegas Ladder 3 was purchased via auction from what ive heard. The 71 Lafrance was Kern County's first aerial device and was purchased for restoration as a museum piece.
Quote:they actually pulled it out of the junkyard to put it in service as a spare? It wasn't in a junkyard, it was purchased directly from Las Vegas via GovDeals.

Kern has at least two tillers in front line service now. Must be planning to continue with them. This looks like a pretty good looking rig to use as a spare. I bet it doesn't have any rust due to road salt!!
