Okay, I know alot about the CF's, but whats the difference between a C85 and a C95 Mack?

Yes, one of the members at No. 3 at the time worked for Alcoa at the Technical Center. He hade that as a small inside ladder. Before the collapsable ladders. It served on the 49 L-Model and was transferred to the CF.

I believe that the Chrome Bull Dog meant Gasoline Engine and the Gold Colored Bull Dog meant Diesel Engine.

What year did they change to that? I recall several C's here on the North Shore delivered with EN707F's and chrome dogs (Saugus, Lynn, Marblehead).



Ed, maybe you remember one of Malden's C-125's, END673T diesel with the chrome pup. Believe chief Romano bought it at auction.



Also, to further confuse myself, I believe I read on FP a few years back, that a Gold pup meant a complete Mack drivetrain, including rear axle.



Any help on unfogging my mind is greatly appreciated!

The Mack C is my favorite rig, and in all my travels, I never saw a Gold dog C. CF's, yes.

[/quote]OK, I'll add my 2 cents to the confusion. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/shrug.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I always understood that the gold pup indicated that the engine/trans were the Mack Maxidine/ Maxitorque combination. These were introduced near the time the CF's came out, maybe that helps. Always Chrome Dogs around Central Florida on the CF's. They Don't build a Firetruck that tuff anymore.

This thread is great! Is there a place where I can search the list of all Mack CFs built? I am looking for info on the two Marlborough, MA had. One was a MMA (1972?), the other a pumper (1972). I'd love to find out what happened to either of these, last I saw of them they were sitting on route 1 in Foxboro, MA at a scrap yard / dealer.

Anyone close to Zacupa, Mexico? A You Tube video shows them receiving a newer rig and shows the Ford tanker, no Mack R.



Wonder if is off the road or sold????
