It is Cherry! What a nice job refirbing and preserving this truck. Note that the color is a metalic off red, Larry do you know what the color name is? It is nice to see a Department making an effort to preserve an older piece of equipment! By the way, the Doylestown Hahn was a Demo!

Chews Landing Saulsbury Rescue, Hahn Chassis Rescue 822
This rig is now a spare for CAMDEN NJ SQUAD 7. The ALLY CATS have it as a back up to their Seagrave...
The Millersville Hahn / Saulsbury, Lancaster County PA Rescue 6-5, was just replaced this past year with a 2005 Pierce Lance.
It was sold To Kiyras Joel Emergency Services in Orange County New York.
Mr. Frank Boyd, is the late Bill Schwartz's collection now in the hands of Dick Adelman? <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> (I thought it was supposed to go to the SPAAMFAA archives). Since Bill has regrettably been deceased for a couple of years, did you seek Mr. Adelman's permission, or do you have access to the hereafter? <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I would like to point out that several past and present acquaintances photo work seems to be represented in this collection.
I.E., I am quite sure that the Smock,PA., Hahn photo was taken by David Bowen, as I was there beside him in that baseball field in July,2001. I also see the work of Scott Mattson and John Floyd in several other photos. Resqguy, you have eagle eyes! I did not notice this back in '01 and can only speculate that a different grille was installed during the mechanical work performed prior to going in service in Smock. You might be aware that this rig was a "problem child" while with MAVFD. Warren Jenkins Thurmont,Md.
there are currently two Hahns on auction from Glastonbury Ct's fleet of six. two were glidered by E\-One and one just came off the line and is probably in reserve status..the sixth is still on the line.
The first thing to remember is that Hahn had one split-tilt chassis and after that it was how many seats you put in it.The second thing is that they were only made for about a year before they closed the doors. That being said I know there were at least 4 shots at the 10 mancab in Maryland,Abington,District Heights,Mt.Airy and Taneytown that I know for sure because it is so cramped that you have to jump out to change your mind.I will try to find the picture of it.BTW I was told by a good source there were only 21 or 23 tilt cabs built.
Terry
Thanks for the update on the tilt cabs from Hahn. The Hahn spokesman made it sound like we, Malverne, were getting a one of a kind cab. Thanks to this site I see we were among a unique GROUP of owners. It still was a great rig, I was sorry to see it go, but the village didn't like the fact that Hahn was no more. Thanks for the info guys...HWDoyle
does anyone have any shots of Oceanside, Long Island New Yorks fleet from the early 90's, they had a nearly all hahn fleet with almost 10 flawless engines.
I think there may be 1 or two left, the fleet is almost all Pierce now. I'm sure gemurph would if he still posted here. |
