How do the guys in Seminole like driving Tower 27 with those 111 mirrors? Does not look like it would be fun.
Dave,
did you get the Mack serial # for this one? Mike
Engine 32, Jasper, FL 1990 Mack MC/Quality 1000/1000 M-492
Engine 2, Lakeland, GA 1987 Ford C-8000/F.M.C. 1250/1000 #7162
Dave, any idea what type of light bars on this rig, don't think I've ever seen those before. Thanks!! Quote:How do the guys in Seminole like driving Tower 27 with those 111 mirrors? Does not look like it would be fun. I didn't ask. I had a hard enough time getting this one positioned in the sun. I didn't look that closely to get a brand name. They remind me of those that SVP sold years ago.

I believe it is a Federal Signal "Street Hawk"
I believe you looked at the wrong photo. Engine 1 has a Street Hawk, but the question was about Engine 2, the Ford C/F.M.C., which has two lightbars.
That I did, my appoligies. We used to have a lightbar on our rescue like the ones on E2, I will do a bit of digging to find it.
Now that I'm looking at the right picture, I believe that they are Whelen 8000 series.

It does however look more like the cheap knock offs that Galls used to sell many years ago as an alternative to a fullsize several hundred dollar lightbar. I can't remember the exact name of them though, but I remember they had the large mid section and the single rotators at each end. Nic

How do the guys in Seminole like driving Tower 27 with those 111 mirrors? Does not look like it would be fun.
Why would it be difficult with the 111 mirrors, they are easy to see out of? The only downside that I have noted when driving with them is determining where the truck ends at the rear, and the ladders all have the rubber arm marker lights so that issue is dealt with in this case.
There was a request for apparatus photos from the Shell Oil facility in Deer Park, TX. Here are a couple:
Engine 1, Shell DPMC, Deer Park, TX 1995 Pierce Lance 3000/300/1000F E-9346
Deluge 60, Shell DPMC, Deer Park, TX
1984 Peterbilt Hose & Turret Wagon 6000 GPM monitor 2000 GPM monitor 2000' of 10" hose Trailer carries a 3000 GPM Godwin pump.
Nice set of photos Dave.
Thanks Dave! Deluge 60 is a beast!!!
