Former Melrose Mass Engine 4, ran as E-2 as well. Taken at a demolition site in Lowell Mass. Technically it's a relic but it looked to be in better shape than several of the engines we're running.

STATION 6-1 ARMSTRONG WORLD INDUSTRIES – Lancaster City



In 1991 with the consolidation of Sta. 6-1 and Sta. 6-9 to become Sta. 6-6 Lancaster Township, the county assigned the Sta. 6-1 number to Armstrong. The fire brigade was disbanded in early 2003.



1960 Mack C95, canopy cab, 1250/500, Thermodyne 707 gas motor, automatic, purchased used from the Rescue Hose#1 of North Tarrytown (Westchester County, NY). Armstrong added a 50 gallon foam tank were the booster reels where. Purchased by Doug Moyer, collector from New York in 2000. All red in color.





Syosset FD on Long Island had a 1961 Mack Hahn (582) . It looked just like this one. I thought that was the truck.



Said end to a nice looking truck.

[/quote]A mill is being demolished on Knottingham St (off Chelmsford). When I saw it, it was in an alley behind the mill next door. You can get there from Smith St or Chelmsford St through driveways.

Last weekend Andrew and I decided to go buffing in Rowan County,NC to see what we could find. In the town of Landis there is a gentleman by the name of Tony Corriher that has a collection of antique fire trucks, several of which have been posted here before. While shooting a rig at Landis FD, Mr. Corriher rolled up in his work tractor trailer tanker (he fills swimming pools as a side job). After explaining who we were and what we liked to do, he agreed to take us to his garage for a few minutes to look at his collection. It was like hitting the jackpot of old fire trucks! We also had a first while shooting rigs: Nearby Charlotte Motor Speedway was having a Vietnam Veterans appreciation complete with flyover of 4 F-18 Fighters that circled over several times while we got pictures. Very neat to see in person in such close formation <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/usa.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/usa.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />



All of the shots were taken inside because they were packed tightly in there but at least they are out of the elements. We were told all of them ran and he pulls them outside once a year to be washed. At any rate, here are a few of the rigs:

To say Tony is a unique character is an understatement as Andrew will agree but he is passionate about old Seagrave and American LaFrance fire trucks as well as classic ambulances.

Big Bertha on the right is a 1928 ALF but I do not remember where its from. The other is an unknown 1929 Seagrave.

You classic ambulance buffs will have to help me here because we were kind of rushed and could not get info on everything. I do remember Mr. Corriher saying this one was extremely rare but I don't remember what made it so rare.

And this one was Mr. Corriher's pride & joy he kept at his house that he was nice enough to pull out into the sun. Check out the vintage mars lights on the hood that swivel from side to side.

And sadly there were a few he bought to strip parts off of. Another rare find indeed. Not much left and there were no clues at to which military base it served.
