The Philly TDA's were the last thing they built in Ephrata.

Quote:such a shame, la city is getting ready to go out to bid on quite a few new tillers. we all know la love them alf /lti rigs. LA City only liked the LTI ladders. They were never very high on the ALF's themselves. It will be interesting if they follow up their KME engine purchases with some TDAs too. They ran Seagraves ladders through the 80's, wonder if Seagrave may try to work their way back in.
out here on the west coast Seagrave is pricing themselves out of the market to where they are the high bid, kinda like Pierce was a few years ago but have now come down in price to where a lot of cities are going to Pierce without a bidding process. as for KME, la city has looked at la county's and they don't like them, and a few other departments that have KME's are having problems. we will have to wait and see who returns bids when the city get's around to sending them out
The Philly Alfs are already having problems they are very loud and are leaking fluids; the guys want there old trucks back

Seagrave has lost parts of some major contracts lately, and after their past relationship with LAFD, you'd wonder if they'd make a deal. They'll need to buy something and I don't see them buying something like a Smeal or Spartan. Sorry don't mean to hijack away from the Philly chatter.
What is wrong with Spartan or Smeal.

They specifically wanted the LTI ladders, so they purchased ALF. They are extremely picky about what they buy. That being said, they, like all the major city/county departments are very tight from a budget perspective these days, so you never know. Quote: What happened between LAFD and Seagrave? Otherwise, Seagrave seems to be the perennial favorite for the smaller departments in the area.
People complaining about spam in the spam mail box... Huh, what'll they think of next?
Quote:I think they were outbid, plus over the past years LAFD has specifically wanted LTI ladders, which was why they went with the Simon Duplex TDA's and then ALF.
