Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous

Those Praying Mantis mirrors may be functional, but oh so hideous looking.

They are not functional at all, and hideous. Need to be changed as soon as possible. No need for anyone to admit fault, just do the right thing.

No...it was S&S!

Nice dig at the end there Jr...never gets old, does it!

Thank you, I thought it was an S&S by the beaver tail and a few other distinguishable features, but I wanted to make sure.

"Truck 512" is red and mutually owned/shared by OWL and Dale City Volunteer Fire and Rescue. It was purchased from a department in Pennsylvania and used whenever Tower 513, Tower 512 or Truck 514 is out of service. From what I've heard it's one hell of a reserve rig.

If you notice the jointly owned rig says Dale City but 512 (OWL).

Prior to the above rig being jointly purchased by Dale City/OWL Dale City often used this Truck - formerly a Fairfax County rig.

FS23 is Prince William County's newest fire station. After a short while it became obvious that the volunteers could not consistently provide adequate staffing. FS23 was turned over to the county, which currently runs an Engine and Medic Unit 24/7.
