Goldens Bridge Fire Department, fire in the fire house
#1
Goldens Bridge, NY Fire Department has lost a their firehouse this morning due to a fire that possibly started in there truck.  At least one firefighter was removed with smoke inhalation to the hospital. Right now it is unknown how much apparatus they have lost, but right I am hearing their rescue, and a suburban, with part of the firehouse roof collapsed.

At this point it looks like they lost their Rescue 24 http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/inde...5&p=520172, a suburban being used as light rescue, a boat, and their 1943 Willys jeep. The fire house a lot of damage throughout

That totally sucks. I bet the new firehouse will have sprinklers.

Firehouse is a loss, and it will be demolished and rebuilt. They are going to be erecting a temporary building to house the apparatus, which should be in place by early next week..

The rescue truck may not be a complete loss. The body can be remounted, they are getting some opinions whether the cab can be saved. The SUV's are easily replaceable (one a 2006 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 assigned to a Chief and one 1996 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 assigned as a light/EMS first response/utility), but the WWII Willys Jeep is one of a kind.

Also, they have a new tanker from 4 Guys in the works, pre-paint inspection was yesterday.

Wow! I've watched a lot of their videos on Youtube, they have a huge station! Seems it's always the newer stuff that gets taken out, of course you NEVER, EVER want this to happen, but the tanker was on it's way out anyhow, not the Rescue! Hopefully it's an easy fix for them! How bad did the gear, tools, etc. get damaged?
