This was the last rig for the day. It was built by members of the Hickory Tavern FD. The chassis is a former military rig, the International cab came out of a junkyard and the rest was assembled by the Volunteers.

The following day, we headed east on Highway 11, hitting several FD's along the way towards Gaffney, SC and then further east to Grover, NC, then back south on I-85 to the Spartanburg, SC area.

Good work by the Volunteers, BUT ISENT IT A SHAME THE US FIREFIGHTERS NEED TO DIG IN A JUNK YART FOR A TRUCK! WE CAN SEND NEW TRUCKS ALL OVER THE WORLD AS AID BUT NOT TO THE ONES THAT COUNT!

Did you happen to get the Baker 'Scope while you were at Joanna. I am Jealous, been trying to shoot their stuff for years, but no one is ever around.

They had it last week, I would assume it is still there. We lucked out in finding someone. The Chief was just pulling up to the station as we did. Same thing happened last time, just pure luck! They have two substations, but we didn't go to either one as it was likely that no one would be around. Each one is assigned a new Kenworth T-300/KME like the Hickory Tavern rig I posted. The County purchased several of them for the Departments.

The Scope will probably be there for a while.I remember reading an article a couple of months ago, Grey Court fd in Laurens county wanted to replace their Scope, and buy a used platform. County council turned them down and stated Joanna and Laurens city could respond an aerial device if needed.
