Where are they keeping the Res. Tower and the Res. Engine you posted?
The Reserve Tower is kept outside at the City Garage along with the Reserve Quint, and Pierce Saber Pumper. With the 3 2012 Arrow XT Pumpers in service now they have 3 more pumpers to add to reserve fleet. The Grumman Reserve runs from the Shipyard alongside its a twin. They are on loan to the Shipyard but are owned and maintained by the City.
Is the shipyard fire station accessible to the public?
You have specs on the Reserve Quint?
Also is the Reserve Saber the one 5 has/had for a while?
Nope the Shipyard FS is far from accessible. Its the most secure, highly strict facility Ive ever dealt with. You can see it from the street a few blocks up from Station 1.
The Quint is ex Ladder 6 and is a 1997 HME-3D-Aerial Innovation 1500/450 75' Aerial.
The reserve Pierce Saber is the one that ran as Engine 34 and then Engine 5 when their Quint wrecked. It is now a reserve but they havent taken the 5 off yet.
I agree, Paul! The only exception would be Harrisonburg, Va's Sutphen Engines (not sure if they're still in service). Not to change the subject, but I'm seeing more and more department's going with the Pierce Arrow XT's.... (and Roto-Ray's look awesome on them!)
FYI - According to an anonymous resource within the FDA photos of this rig can be used in place of Viagra.... <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Lol. Nicely done Newport News, and thanks Trey!
