I can't recall if these two Pierce units were posted or not.

Union, Maine is my guess. They had a tanker catch fire back in January of this year. They signed a contract for signed for an American LaFrance and North American Equipment for a 3,000 gallon tank, 1000 gpm pump on a Freightliner chassis, delivery was expected in 60 days.

American LaFrance had the previously posted Eagle and this tanker.

Trav,

I think your correct and I just mislabeled the photo. If I recall correctly these are all supposed to be 2011 chassis. Not sure how many have been delivered yet or not, these things seem to have a cloack of secrecy over them.

This was my first time in one of them, I was not impressed but I assume FDNY knew what they were getting so perhaps their expectations are different from mine.

Kris,

By all means, I wouldn't disagree with you if these are indeed 2012s, with the large volumes that FDNY orders, I wouldn't be surprised if Dodge didn't keep making this body style for them, it just struck me as odd, because I saw one of these at FDIC last year, and it was right about the time that Dodge announced the new body style, so I wondered if they'd use those instead... Black Rock Volunteer Fire Company is the result of the merger earlier this year of the Mont Clare and Oaks VFC's in Montgomery County, PA. Don't confuse BLACK Rock with BLUE Rock. Blue Rock was the result of the merger in 2010 of the Millersville, West Lancaster, Highville, and Good Will of Washington Boro Fire Companies in Lancaster Co, PA.

Yep, knew about the Blue Rock merger, and then read up on the web site linked above about Black Rock. Thanks.

[/quote]More than likely FDNY and/or Wheeled Coach made a bulk purchase of chassis and are still building bodies for them. It's possible that they did this due to the recent changes in the EPA emissions requirements and bought up as many of the "older engines" as they could? Wouldn't be the first time somebody did something like that.

I assume this is a fire police type unit, (traffic control items and such) can anyone confirm that? I did not really look it over until I got home and started going thru the pics.

In Montco, where I run, fire police units are called traffics. So your assumption is correct.

Does anyone know where the big parade is down by the fire expo every year?  I remember going there years ago (I think Hershey) but can't find it advertised

I don't think there has been a parade associated with the Harrisburg Fire Expo in more than 20 years. I think you are correct that they were in Hershey.
