Sterling VFD Engine 611 (Loudoun County)
Need some help on this Oren/Ford C. I took this photo in Winchester at the Apple Blossom Festival in 1992. It looks like it is from Washington VFD in Rappahannock County.

The above pic is a Ford Oren Pumper/Tanker that was owned by the Buck Hall vol. Fire Dept. Co.16 in Prince William County Va. It was later sold to the Washington Va. vol. Fire Dept. in Rapahannock Co. Va. It is long gone now.

An interesting note about this rig, Washington VFD kept the same paint sceme and lettering as Buckhall used, including the door patch, changing out only the name and company number. And this rig was one of several that were originally purchased by Prince William County DFR and then eventually sold or given to individual departments in Prince William. And the originals were all painted yellow !

Saw this truck traveling on I-91 north friday (6-1-12) afternoon just north of hartford ct, anyone know wheres its off too. I thought it may have been going to the Antique Truck Historical Society National convention in nearby West Springfield MA but never saw it there. Seemed like an unusual chassis, especially for a fire apparatus.

Lynchburg Station 8 also houses this unusual tanker...

The crew told me the city keeps planning on selling this truck, but they keep finding a use for it.
That is it for this installment. Hope you enjoyed the photographs.
