Newtown had an aggressive replacement program for there apparatus. The engine had a lot of miles on it due to there paid guys using it, till the Township bought the paid guys there own rig. I believe the truck went south, but I am not sure.

The answer to the question on where the Quantum went is: [color="#000000"]Bardstown (Nelson Co.),KY - this is the same place where their 1988 Pierce Arrow ladder went. Looking for shots of both in there new home.[/color]

Replaced last year by a Spartan/Swab this rig has now transfered to Public Works for misc.duties. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/3_12_21.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='3_12_21' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/stirpot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Stirpot' /> !

These sure were some good rigs. We had a 76 model with the same canopy cab with a gas engine & manual transmission. Tough to drive, but an even tougher piece of equipment.

Wrecked in a rollover around 1992-93, replaced with a FL/Pierce.
