This & That from Here & There
It is very similar to all of those, I used the FDNY reference since they are using quite a few other features from FDNY, recessed grab handles, recessed side lighting, hasp and lock on compartments (Dekalb needs this!) as well as they have the two rear facing compartments on the back of the body. It looks like it will be a well designed truck from the drawings. We have been working on one from a while now, ours will be more like the Falmouth and Mechanicsville squads.

And they all started with the monster squad at Berwyn Heights in 2004. District of Columbia, Glendale, and Burtonsville also have.

And that is why Prince George's County and most of Maryland have some of the most awesome volunteer-owned heavy rescues on the planet!!!!

Absolutely! Berwyn Heights started it and it has been that same basic design for 10 years now. No need to reinvent the wheel, minor changes that each department needs or wants and another excellent rescue is born! I can't think of another area that has so many well designed heavy rescues.

When did Berwyn Heights first monster go on its side? I went down there in July 2004 and (I believe) the new one was already ordered. I remember the guy showing me the specs in their watch office

NVM I got my answer!

Laurel, Cranston Heights, North Charleston- I like this game! Los Angeles's U.S.A.R. almost counts.

Let's not forget about Long Island there are more rescues per square mile than anywhere else in the world and a lot of them are spec'ed extremely well

I recently attended the 2014 SPAAMFAA Winter Convention in North Charleston, SC.  I made the drive over on Wednesday, February 5th, with a few stops along the way.

Dave any idea what the skid unit in the background goes to by chance?
John Fauble

I am interested in all of the equipment and apparatus used in fire fighting and ems service.

I didn't ask.  It looked like it had been sitting there a while.
