FLORIDA RIGS
#1
Hey guys, I've been wanting to start a new thread for while now, if you noticed in my original thread (Municipalities within Broward & Miami-Dade County), I started down sizing (680x480) and adding my name (FIREPIX21 Photo) to all my pictures... looks a lot neater <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' />

Needless to say with over 60 pages of pictures & 1200 replies we are on a roll!! Let's start fresh for the New Year <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/luxhello.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Luxhello' />

I'd like everyone to continue posting pictures and contributing information on this thread.

Thank you for all your support...

Alex

Great pics Alex! I feel a bit behind as I've been unbelievably busy with school with no time for stopping by Ten-8 in Bradenton...

Otherwise I have a question - is the Broward hazmat unit still housed at Station 23 in Broadview Park area? Or did 23 get a new station elsewhere? I thought the new stations were 106, 32 and 17...

And another - do you know if Lake Forest VFD is still around and if so, where it is physically located?

Lake Forest was closed by Broward Co. a few months ago, it was near the Dade/Broward line.

srq2009,

Correct, BSFR opened four new stations...

Station-17 Hazardous Materials

Station-27 Pembroke Park/West Park

Station-32 Technical Rescue

Station-106 Alligator Alley

Currently Station-23 is closed due to mold problems; E23 & HM23 are split up for now. E23 runs out of Davie Station-104 (Oaks Rd & 441) while HM23 runs out of their new Station-17... why they haven't renumbered them beats me, I'm still trying to figure that out.

As to Lake Forest VFD it no longer exists.

Hey thanks! Good to know...

And do you know the exact whereabouts of new Station 27? I have the former station at SW 40th and SW 26th...

Alex,

One of quite a few ATF units stationed all over the place. There is an identical unit stationed at Pittsburgh, PA. Engine 29's Quarters. Last time I tried to get pictures of it the guy said they weren't allowed to touch it, and if the station caught fire it would burn up for all they cared. lol. Great pictures though. Keep'em coming.

Alex,

Great photos. Can you confirm where the next 3 Miami-Dade PUC's will go? I was told that E7 is to get one, and the Velocity PUC will go to E15.

Shoop,

I heard that rumor also and I believe I saw it mentioned in my previous thread (Municipalities within Broward & Miami-Dade).

Here is what I know... the first four PUC's were assigned to E14, E20, E40 & E56, the remaining three coming sometime this week are supposedly assigned to E30, E32 & E45... that could have changed. As to E7, I do remember someone stating the Velocity PUC will go to E15 when the Arrow XT PUC is delivered.
