This rig sits in the front yard of a Duffield volunteer and supposedly is still "officially" in-service, although it looked like it hadn't moved in years.

The next fire dept was an interesting place to go to. St. Charles reminded me of a very poor, mountainous coal town that you might find in West Virginia, lots of small 1920s era houses worth at most $40-45,000. We were told this was not an area you wanted to be in at night because it was a rough area so we shot the trucks that were outside and left as quickly as we came. At any rate, here is St. Charles' station, only a 3 bay station with the rest of the equipment sitting outside in the elements.

Them rough places are the best <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> usually have some of the best rigs! Kinda like Kentland and Chapel Oaks.... Dont wanna be anywhere close at dark!
Was former Engine 55, the assigned to Engine 60, after that was in our reserve pool. We received two of these rigs in 1986. Engine 16 received the other. That 86 Spartan was totalled in a auto accident.
No one was home at Jasper VFD but this old bread truck and a brush truck that I did not shoot were outside.

I've gotten to know the chief at Jasper after visiting there several times. Great guy, but the department is very, very strapped for money. Here's what's found in the bays:
Brush 9 2008 Chevrolet 3500/FD 250/250 (first out on all calls)
Engine 91 1976 Ford C900/FMC 1000/750 (ex Smithfield VFD [Isle of Wight Co])
Engine 92 1981 Chevrolet C-70/FMC 750/1000 (ex Gate City, VA [Scott Co])
Tanker 9 1976 Ford 900/EEI 500/1150 (ex-Hunterdale VFD [Southampton County, VA])
[left]During my last visit, they were contemplating selling the brush truck because they couldn't make the payments on it. They were reluctant to, however, because they couldn't trust the other rigs to make it to the scene.[/left]
