I'm gonna share the conditions first.  the top pic is the dash of my car, the other, a typical New Englander's view of the snowstorm we are in the middle of.  The red dot is roughly where the fire occurred.

The fire was in a 3&4 story wood frame, stores on the first with apartments above.  Initially, companies seemed to be making progress, but the fire extended through hidden spaces and eventually took possession of the entire building....a very miserable night to fight a fire.

Wow! That looks like some miserable firefighting conditions! That is a dedicated fire photographer to be out in that!!! Great shots! We were getting worried down here because it was 29 last night!  Rolleyes

Ed, you're a brave soul.  I've been in Minnesota for a few days, where the low was -17 one morning, so I can relate to how cold it was...
