A few corrections: I see the "legend" made it to little St. Thomas, PA.! St Thomas VFC: 1970 FordC/Howe 1000/750 replaced c. 1995-96 1980 FordC/Pierce 1000/1000 destroyed in wreck c.1992 1975 Dodge/Pierce ?/? replaced 2006 I'll check with Dave for the info... Port Royal, PA. Juniata Co. 1989 IH S/2600/ Allied Tank 500/3000 compartmentation done by local shop 1994 photo by Warren Jenkins Finally, Latrobe purchased the former RS19,Lorton VFD,VA. and it was damaged in an accident enroute to Latrobe, but since it's an E-1, a fresh shipment of BUD cans made it right <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Also the Rural-Security rig is a 1986 Ford C/FMC 100/750 and Bill got Shafton's Pioneer mostly right - it's a 1969 750/500 with 1987 rehab by J.C.Moore. ( Thanx to Patrick,Todd, and KSFAN)!
I believe Latrobe bought that used rescue from Lorton, Va... not sure why that sticks out in my head... if it isn't that... it is in Fairfax County for sure and it sounds something like that.
On second thought, good chance it was from Luray, Va. Dave
Lorton, Virginia's (Fairfax County) 1987 E-1 Hurricane 250/300 squad was sold to Latrobe in 2001. E-1 serial number 5844. Here is the squad photographed at Lorton, Virgina. Mike Sanders Ashburn, VA www.fairfaxfirebook.com

Scott,
Additional info on the West Bradford rig: 1974 Ward LaFrance Ambassador, canopy cab, 1000/800. This was the first canopy cab ordered by the company, Detroit 6V53, automatic, Wisconsin 3.5 KW generator. It was housed on 9/16/78. It was refurbed, rebodied, and repainted by LTI in 1987. It was repowered with a Cat 3116, 250 HP, in 1989. Transmission blew in early 2000, tough to get parts for. Originally all yellow. Still in service, in dire need of replacement. Motor is strong, body & cab are rusting off of it. Bruce

The Rural Security FC of North Lebanon Township, PA operated this Ford C/FMC pumper. No stats on this one 1000/750 this truck is still a first out piece for rural security.... and still holding strong Quote:The Derry Township VFD of Bradenville, PA ran this 1981 Ford L/FMC pumper. It had a 1250 gpm pump and a 750 gallon water tank. Bill Schwartz pic/Mattson Collection Last I checked still owned by them, but now it is mostly a reserve; replaced by a Sutphen in 2002. Doc, I thought Shafton's was a 1969 <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mellow.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I was always told the pattern in "The Township" was: our old American LaFrance 900 was a '67, Strawpump's Ford C/Howe was a 1968, Shafton's Pioneer a 1969, and Circleville's Seagrave a 1970 (first diesel in North Huntingdon). Scott, thanks again for the pic's!
