I know "rescue" means different things depending where you are in the country, but I have a lot of questions about this rig.  Is it an engine with an ambulance body or maybe a walkin rescue?  If it is an ambo,, do they carry supply line?  Is 500gpm the correct pump size?   It appears to have only two riding positions.  Is it staffed by only two EMT/P's?

Volusia County has four or five of these Rescue Engines in service.  They are a "Transport Extrication CAFS Engine".  In addition to the two 1.75" crosslays, there is a third that carries some 2.5" for supply line.  Specs are as I noted.  Each is staffed by a crew of two, but I am not sure on certification levels.

Thanks for the additional info.

Several articles have been published about the unusual Volusia units, but I think this one sums the concept up pretty well:  http://www.firefighternation.com/article...ce-service

Palm Harbor maintains this former pumper as a parade rig that is used by the Palm Harbor Historical Society.
