The Pleasant Valley rescue is a Hamerly. Monroeville No. 3 replaced the mini with a 4-Guys mini.

I'm pretty sure this is 83N765, a 1983 Young Crusader II 1250/500/40F that was delivered to Bailey's Crossroads, VA and later served in Walnut Bottom, PA and Gilberton, PA and ended up in Burnettsville, IN. Maybe someone else can confirm.

Not sure about the Gilberton part. I know that after Frazer Twp. #1 had it, it went to Gibraltar Fire Co. in Berks County, PA.

Pleasant Valley Rescue doesnt look like a Hamerly. Maybe a Bruco or Swab. Pleasant Valley DID have a Ford C/Hamerly top mount pumper. Maybe they painted it to look like the Hamerly pumper.



Also the Monroeville mini IS a Hamerly

Bill, the Murrysville rig was donated to the "infamous" Bakerton,WV VFD, it did not last long as it was stored outside and suffered pump/motor damage due to a freeze. There are probably pics of it on the Bakerton thread.

Good grief! This Ford C has a Swab body, one of the largest up to that time and one of the 1st tandem rears used by SWAB.

Delivered to Lorton,VA IN 1973, sold to O'Hara TWP. in 1988.Featured in books and magazines.

The Steelton Mack aerialscope is actually x-Harrisburg, the 1971 rig was sold to Steelton in rough shape in 1990, it was rebuilt by SFD members over several years.The story of this Mack is in Dave Houseal's 1st book, "We can see it from the bridge". Steelton does have an xFDNY engine.

yes , stickney had their station closed, in 2006 convention they had the alf draped in black as wwell as all their badges, the fire co gave this engine to neighboring newport twp fire dept with the stipulation stickney name was to remain on it, if/when they didn't want it it was to come back to the stickney membership, who kept charter still active,for them to decide on its final dispostition.it is a complicated arrangement in nanticoke city they have 6 vol companies but have paid drivers at the headquarter station but somehow have it in their contract that the vol.s can't respond until called,their personell are to respond to all calls but their piece is not to go until called for, i know it sounds as complicated as it is,the only stipulation was if the call is in their first due area, then they are "aloud" to respond their piece, the city owns the quint & engine in hheadquarters, #1 (stickney & #5 (Washington) both sold the apparatus they had after the city closed their stations & paying utilities/insurance on them, they were given the "option" to move their piece to headquarters where the carrer firefighters would use them as they saw fit, so 1 &5 both decided rather than have their stuff used by someone BUT them they sold it or donated it , #4 hanover still has a city owned piece a '74 hahn still in service, #6 (honey pot) which has always been independent of city still has their station they own as well as the engine they own
