Centennial, CO 2nd Alarm 10/8/13
#1
Not sure why I didn't post this one earlier.  It was a 04:00 fire with multiple RP's reporting flames and explosions from a condo building at Peakview & Dayton.  First due Engine 31 found heavy fire from floors 2 & 3 with vegetation going on the ground level also.  A 2nd Alarm was immediately struck and two 2 1/2 blitz lines were deployed for transitional attack.

Here is a pre-water photo courtesy of a friend on the first due Tower Ladder

Knock down occurred in the first 5 minutes and extensive overhaul work was needed.

The fire actually started on the 2nd floor balcony as a result of carelessly discarded cigarettes.  It burned up the wall and through the floor of the deck above.  The heat broke the glass on the 3rd floor slider and that whole apartment became fully involved before the knock down.

The second alarm companies were released almost as soon as they arrived.  Here's a photo of Engine 31 on the plug, they advanced the 2 1/2 from this position and let the first Tower have the front of the building.
