I made a contact to Portland Fire Station 1 in advance, and it worked just great. The guys on the shift were awesome.

Tower 1 from the Portland FD/OR is this 2010 Pierce Arrow XT, that is equipped with a 95' mm tower.

Squad 1 in Portland still operates this 2005 ALF Eagle HDR.

A decent photo of USAR 1 was not possible on the premises of the fire station. No problem, the driver said, and parked the truck in front of the station on the middle lane of the street. COOL !

It is a 2005 Pierce Dash tractor-trailer.

I expected the new Squad 1 tillered rescue at Station 1. But at the time of my visit it was in the Portland FD shops and still not in service. As it was Saturday, nobody worked at the shops. So a leading officer offered me to drive to the shops for a photo. GREAT !

As no other FD member was here, I had to play the tillerman to bring the truck into position. !!! Unfortunately, too late I noticed, that there was no sun on the front.

The new Squad 1 is this now well known 2012 Pierce Arrow XT tiller-rescue. It is equipped with an IMT nuckle-crane behind the cab.

On the remaining two days of my trip the weather turned completely to dark and overcast skies. On Sunday morning I got this photo of Portland Haz-Mat 7. It is a 2005 Pierce Lance.

Next stop on this Sunday was the main station in Woodburn. Engine 21 is this compact 2006 Spartan Mountain Star 4x4 with bodywork from H&W Emergency Vehicles, 1000 gpm/ 500 water.

Ladder 21 in Woodburn/OR is this 2003 Spartan Gladiator with Smeal bodywork and Smeal 100' mm tower.

Without  prior arrangement I also visited the main station from the Silverton FD at this Sunday.

 

Engine 415 is this 1990 Ford LN 9000 with bodywork from Western States Fire Apparatus, 1250 gpm/1000 water.

Tualatin Valley Fire Rescue is the result of a merger of several Fire Departments in the Metro Portland area. With 21 stations, it is the second-largest FD in Oregon.

 

Heavy Rescue 51 is this 2012 Pierce Quantum, that is equipped with a 250 gpm-pump and a 300 gwt.

Engine 6 in Hillsboro/OR operates this 2005 Spartan Gladiator with bodywork from H&W. It has a 1500 gpm intracab-pump and a 1000 gallon-tank. H&W Emergency Vehicles is located in Hillsboro.

Engine 813 in nearby Cornelius is this 2001 HME 1871 with bodywork from Western States. It has a 1500 gpm intracab-pump and a 1000 gallon-tank. One of the last Western States apparatus built. This company was located in Cornelius.

And finally for today, Heavy Brush 8 in Cornelius is a 2012 International 7400 4x4 with bodywork from Ahrens-Fox, 500 gpm/500 water/20 foam. Tag-order to a large order from CALFIRE.

Anyone know how in the world they get enough air to flow to keep this rig from over heating. I know older apparatus were designed to not have a grille but this chasis was not.

Jurgen, Nice to see that you have had a successful trip out here, with a great variety of apparatus to show for your travels. Excellent photos as usual, and I see you even got a bunch of the Rosenbauer apparatus you were after. Very nice to see you again!
