AHA! I see the reason for the confusion. Yes, there WAS another Young in Cinnaminson, but it wasn't a Bison.

Both Young Bison's and Hendrickson 1871C's featured a cab built by TCM of Cincinnati, OH.



Siblings, but not twins.



Scott, the pic I used for comparison is also yours. If you look between the driver's window and the jumpseat window on Engine 2012, you can see the Hendrickson logo.

Here is an old rig from Sergeantsville NJ (Delaware Twp, Hunterdon Co.). This is a Ford/Bruco. I dont know the year built but it served the FD until 1983. It was replaced by a Ford/Peter Pirsch. The rig is missing the old siren/light from the roof of the cab that was orginially there (And I think an "added on" beacon also). This rig is in the hands of one of the members.



The ladded in the background served the Flemington Fire Dept (Flemington Boro, Hunterdon Co). It is a 1972 International/Peter Pirsch 85 foot mid mounted ladder. It was in-service until 1991 Seagrave 105 Foot Appllo Tower Ladder was bought.

ok i give up where are the out riggers or stabilizers hidden on int/pirsch??

In the photo, not the comparatment that has the "LADDER 1" but next one back... They were SCREW JACKS that come down from the compartment. They also had "jack pads" of plywood. What I remember was laminated sheets of 4 inch by 4 inch that was over 2 inches THICK. This was my FIRST Ladder I had to climb to vent a roof (This was Mutial Aid to my FD - I did not belong to FFD) ... I would have liked a 50 foot Portable Ground ladder instead of Climbing that thing... The BOUNCE factor was great (might have been from MANY YEARS of operating a Ladder Pipe at most big Fires!) as was the limited stabilizers!!!

This could be a Pierce or it could be a Darley or it could be both. There are definitely Pierce characteristics in the bodywork, but it looks like a Darley pump layout, not Waterous, which Pierce used for many years. Pierce supplied bodies to Darley for several years prior to national marketing of their own line in the late 1960's. With the exception of apparatus equipped with Snorkels, very few Pierce rigs were ever sold outside of Wisconsin until 1969. I would guess the apparatus in question to be of 1962-1966 vintage, therefore, I'd say it is likely a Darley with a Pierce body.

According to Pleasant Plains website, they bought a 4 wheel drive GMC in 1965. this must be it.
